Learn how to realize the full benefits of higher powered Class IV Therapy Lasers! This combination lecture and interactive lab is a complete introduction to the use of a Class IV therapy lasers in small animal practice. Current and prospective users will learn how diode lasers operate and how Class IV laser light interacts with tissue to reduce pain, reduce inflammation, and accelerate healing. Up-to-date treatment protocols for effective use will be explained. How Class IV therapy lasers impact patient care will be demonstrated through presentation of clinical cases in slide shows and videos. In the hands on session attendees will learn to operate a Class IV therapy laser, and will interactively observe everyday laser therapy techniques performed by instructors on live animals. Exercises will demonstrate laser capabilities and techniques with an emphasis on safety for the patient, operator and observers. The course will include a discussion of practice implementation of Class IV technology and a review of the how to establish a fee structure to make the technology profitable. All attendees will be given multi-media reference material.
